Noha Aziz Ezzat Gomaa
Dr. Noha A. Gomaa is an Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine at Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University and an Associate Scientist at Lawson Health Research Institute. She has interdisciplinary clinical and research expertise in oral pathology, epigenetics, social epidemiology and the population health sciences. Dr. Gomaa’s Society-to-Cell Oral Health Research Lab (S2CL) at Western, studies multi-omics processes that underlie oral diseases and related major health conditions and examines how these may be altered by social and environmental exposures. Gomaa completed her PhD at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto and a fellowship in public health policy at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto, followed by a clinician-scientist research fellowship in neuroscience and epigenetics at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She has experience working in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Health and federal policymakers to develop evidence-based programs for the provision of dental services to children from low-income families and other groups of the population.
